CJA condemns move of MP Gordan Maras

Croatian Journalists' Association (CJA) condemns action of Gordan Maras, SDP Parliament Member, who today booted out from the press conference the Croatian Radio Television (HRT) crew. CJA under no circumstances supports arbitrary decision to shut the door to journalists at work whatever media they might be from.

Boycott started by GONG together with many NGO's and unions some days ago did not understand censoring journalists, and that is exactly what SDP member did today.

CJA is organizing protest at March 2, 2019 to point out difficult situation journalists and journalism are facing in Croatia, especially regarding censorship.

We kindly ask politicians not to miss-use our journalists’ protest for their own goals. It goes especially for those politicians that had the opportunity while at power to do something to improve media situation in Croatia. But alas they did nothing.
