About the Croatian Journalists' Association

The Croatian Journalists' Association (CJA) was founded November 18, 1910. It is member of the International Journalist Federation (IFJ) and the European Journalist Federation (EFJ) and it has more than 2500 members.

CJA goals are:

a) implementing professional interests, ethics and freedom of speech

b) promoting public right to be informed about all on goings and right of every person to freedom of speech, opinion and access to public media guaranteed by the Constitution

c) protecting reputation and dignity of journalists

d) protecting journalists from publishers’ autocracy and preventing monopoly

e) protecting financial and social status of journalists.

The CJA assembly is the highest managing body and its responsibility is to elect president, Executive Board, Supervisory Board, Ethical Council and some members of the Solidarity Fund Managing Board.
