Saša Leković, CJA president, laid wreaths at the site of journalists killed in 1991 at Hrvatska Kostajnica region. He also supported the idea to commemorate all journalists killed in the Homeland War and called once more the relevant institutions to find and punish assassins of war reporters.

By today's decision about extending term to Siniša Kovačić as acting HRT general manager still technical Croatian Government ignored HRT Supervising Board opinion, public debate objections and CJA disagreement as well as alarms that came from international journalists organizations, organizations monitoring freedom of expression and EBU (European Broadcaster Union), whose member is even HRT.

HRT Program has been deliberately destructed

The Croatian Journalists' Association (CJA) strongly protests against deliberate destruction of Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) Program executed by acting management of this public radio-television. For these radical changes, going as far as the autumn program plan, this acting management has no power of authorization whatsoever.

The Croatian Journalists’ Association joins the appeal of the Trade Union of Croatian Journalists and all other organizations, institutions and individuals that have driven attention to wrong and harmful decision of the Ministry of Culture to cut grants for EDIT publishing house in Rijeka by 50 % followed by announcement that next year grants might even be cancelled completely.

High state officials should urgently condemn instigations and APBs directed by „journalists“ who violate professional principles, laws and human rights

The Croatian Journalists’ Association is disgusted by the fact that Velimir Bujanec’s show “The Flow” broadcasted a story that is actually an APB on Rene Bitorajec, well known Croatian actor, and Narod portal re-broadcasted it including a part with clearly visible address of Rene Bitorajec and his family (wife and 2 children).
