Croatian Journalists’ Association (CJA) warns public that selection of non-Parliament members of the Parliament Committee for Information, Informatization and Media is new attack on media freedom and integrity of journalist profession in Croatia.


Policemen who attacked Drago Miljuš suspended

Two policemen, members of the Police Headquarter for Split and Dalmatia Special Forces, who on Tuesday physically attacked Drago Miljuš, journalist, violated duty code and will be suspended and taken under disciplinary measures. That was said in Ministry of the Interior answer to the Regional Platform for advocating media freedom and safety of journalists.


Croatian Journalists’ Association (CJA) condemns attempt of Ivica Vulić, Novska City Council president, to ban reporting from that institution of local administration

On Thursday, October 12, 2017, Novska City Council president asked journalist Zdravko Sever to leave the premises where City Council had its session. The reason, he claimed, was that the journalist did not have accreditation. But no journalist had it, as accreditations had never been issued for the Council sessions.

On Saturday, September 16, in Veliki Pašijan near Garešnica, Nova TV reporter Ema Branica, cameraman Alan Novak and his assistant Goran Jaganjac were physically attacked while shooting.


CJA noted Parliament members they were guilty of erosion of HRT

At the protest initiated by elimination of HTV show Croatia live the CJA passed around leaflets to the Parliament members and ministers. The idea was to make them aware of their responsibility for the situation at the public broadcaster and media service.
